Solutions for Biomarkers discovery , Translational and Personalized Medicine

With the advent of the biological drugs (therapeutics monoclonal antibodies,...) and the concomitant increase of the costs of treatment it becomes crucial to avoid the collapse of the social security systems by being able for instance to make prediction on the treatment efficacy prior to the administration of the actual drugs to the patients. Biomarkers used to that end will contribute to make the medicine of the future more tailor-made and personalized. BioXpr has developed a wide bioinformatics and biostatistics know-how in the area of Biomarkers discovery through numerous industry collaborations. In that field BioXpr can either develop customized seamless pipeline software solution (lien vers “Technology and Know-how, Biomarkers”) on customer’s site to assist in collecting, storing, combining, analysing and integrating multi-source datasets (“Omics”, clinical trials,..) using different modules such as “Sculptor”(lien vers “Sculptor”) and “Namek” (lien vers “Namek”). The integration of these different data will undoubtedly assists the scientists in better understanding the underlying causes of illnesses such as cancers and neurodegenerative diseases, in finding the most relevant predictive biomarkers of efficacy and eventually in increasing the treatments potency. An example of seamless pipeline solution is depicted here-below (slide on the pipeline: micro-arrays, mass specàlist of genes/proteins à Sculptor à Namek)Besides BioXpr can also draw on its biostatistics expertise to offer to carry out internally the statistical analysis and the interpretation of the datasets on behalf of its customers. For instance a customer can provide BioXpr’s micro-array trasncriptomics raw data. After analysis and interpretation BioXpr deliver back to the customer the list of the differentially expressed genes and the corresponding signalling pathways impacted by the corresponding proteins and related to the customer’s research interest. See the here-below case studies Case Study: (Almac case study)BioXpr has teamed-up with the companies Bio-Modeling Systems, F and Kayentis , F in 2009 to create “BioXplain”, the first platform for iterative, interative and integrative Biology.
